La Caribe is a retreat in Maya Beach, Belize on the lagoon side of the Placencia peninsula. The sun sets on this side of the peninsula displaying an aurora of colors over the Maya Mountains which overlook the lagoon. From the front porch of the cabana the infamous "Sleeping Mayan" can be seen. From La Caribe to the other side of the peninsula is the beautiful Caribbean Sea. A two minute walk takes you there, where you can swim, snorkel, fish or just relax and tan on the sand. We offer a cabana with full Belizean style kitchen and a suite with refrigerator and microwave to reserve. Our units are air conditioned for your comfort. At La Caribe you will see many animals including iguanas from large to small, a resident nearsighted fox, hummingbirds, toucans, macaws, a variety of other birds, Blue Morphos butterflies, and the frivolous Coatimundis. We can arrange tours including the popular Monkey River Jungle Walk tour or tours to all the Mayan Ruins, the Jaguar Reserve, diving, snorkeling, fishing and sailing tours. If you desire, we can stock your fridge with food, Belikin beer or both before you arrive. We offer free transfers from and to the Placencia airport. La Caribe is for you.
