Our
Location and Getting Here
We assume
you know where Belize is, since you have probably done some research, but
if you don't, we are directly south of Mexico, east of Guatemala and border
on the Caribbean Sea. La Caribe is located on the mainland approximately
in the middle of the Placencia peninsula in a village called Maya Beach.
Here you have the best of both worlds with the Caribbean on one side of
us and the lagoon on the other. To the south of us about 3 miles is Seine
Bieght, a Garifuna village. Placencia, the main village, is located at the
end on the peninsula about six miles south of us. North of us about about
nine miles is the village of Riversdale. We have hundreds of islands we
call Cayes. False Caye, the closest one to us, is right offshore from La
Caribe. Our resort is in close proximity to the longest coral reef in the
Western Hemisphere. A short boat ride gets you there, where you can snorkel,
dive or fish. To get here you can fly from Belize City International Airport
to Placencia on either Tropic or Maya Island Air and we will pick you up.
You can rent a car at Belize City International Airport and drive down,
or take a cab ride into Belize City and catch the bus down. The first is
reccommended , fly, but it's up to you.
