La Caribe is a private retreat in Maya Beach, Belize on the lagoon side of the Placencia peninsula . The sun sets on this side of the peninsula exhibiting a aurora of colors around the backdrop of the magnificent Maya Mountains which overlook the lagoon. From the porch of the cabana the "Sleeping Mayan" mountain range is visible. On the lagoon side you can fish from shore. On the other side of the peninsula and down the pathway is the beautiful Caribbean Sea where you can swim, snorkel, fish or just relax and tan on the beach. We offer a cabana and suites all with full Belizean style kitchens. Our units are air conditioned for your comfort. On our property you will see many animals including iguanas from large to small, foxes, hummingbirds, toucans, macaws, butterflies, and the frivolous Coatimundis. Whatever else you may see, we can assure you that you will see plentiful wildlife at La Caribe. We can arrange any tour you would like including the popular Monkey River Jungle Walk tour or tours to all the Mayan Ruins, the Jaguar Reserve, or diving, snorkeling, fishing and sailing tours. At your request, we can stock your refrigerator before you arrive with food, Belikin beer or both. We offer free transfers to and from the Placencia airport.
